Dr. Antje Behring, PhD is a expert in evidence-based medicine, pharmaceutical benefit assessment, and health policy having worked in the Pharmaceuticals Department of the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) in Germany for over a decade, first as a Scientific Advisor and then as Head of Department from 2018. During this time, she helped to implement the early benefit assessment of pharmaceuticals introduced under the Pharmaceutical Market Restructuring Act (AMNOG) and played an active role in supporting Germany’s integration into the European health technology assessment (HTA) framework, strengthening the coordination between national and European evaluation processes.  Antje’s career has spanned roles across statutory health insurance, regulatory bodies, and industry associations, with a strong focus on bridging healthcare systems and industry to support informed, evidence-based decisions. Before joining the G-BA, she served as Team Lead for HTA and Innovation at Pharma Deutschland e.V., a pharmaceutical industry association, and prior to this she was a consulting pharmacist at BARMER in Bavaria, where she advised on the economic aspects of pharmaceutical care and health policy issues. She also holds a doctorate in Pharmacy. Since October 2025, Antje has been a Managing Partner at Payers GmbH, where she advises clients on market access, HTA, and evidence generation. She continues to champion collaboration between public and private sectors to ensure that medical innovation delivers sustainable benefits for patients and healthcare systems.
